It’s roundup time for the Tri-District Cub Scout Day Camp. By now you have decided that you’re going to register your son and yourself for daycamp! If not, then what are you waiting for? Take a look at the Tri-District Day Camp Website for information at tridistrictdaycamp.com. All the forms you need are available within the Download section of the Website. But here’s a helpful list to get you started:

Pack 1800 registration deadline for Day Camp
Payment and all paperwork will be due at the April Pack Meeting. Registration is $55.00 per Scout. Please coordinate to hand off your son’s daycamp registration information to Audra Abel. Audra’s number is 713-240-7107.
Adult volunteers and den walkers
Den Walkers are with the boys during the course of the day. A DEN WALKER is an Adult that attends the day camp with the boys. They help keep the boys in line, keep them on schedule, and shepherd them from event-to-event throughout the day. It is really lots of fun! And… it’s FREE!
4:1 Cub Scout to Adult Ratio!
We must ensure that we meet the new minimum adult to Cub Scout ratio of 4:1 for day camp. In other words, one den walker is required for every four boys, therefore everyone who signs up their son for day camp will be asked to volunteer for at least one day. Parents and Webelos must be in attendance all day. DEN WALKER TRAINING IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT FOR ALL ADULT ATTENDEES. Training dates have been posted on the Tri-District Day Camp Website.

What is Day Camp?
Day Camp is an annual event of four fun-filled days available to all registered Cub Scouts and Webelos. It is the combined effort of three great Scouting Districts: Brazos, North Star, and Thunder Wolf. This year our camp theme is Akela’s Jungle Adventure. The activities offered at this event will help each of the Scouts earn credit towards their Rank Advancement, arrow points, Webelos Activity Badges, and Sports and Academic Activities including BB Guns and Archery!
Each registered participant also receives a great looking T-shirt, a very special patch, and a cool water bottle.

Where is Day Camp?
Day Camp will be held at the Fort Bend County Fair Grounds in Rosenberg, Texas.
A parent from another Cub Scout Pack, Tina Ober of Pack 828, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The Webelos of Pack 828 wanted to honor Mrs. Ober, and started a very special service project in her name. They will be hosting a local 5K Run/Walk and 1-mile Family Walk with the proceeds benefiting the Pancreatic Cancer Patients Alliance. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness, increasing education and furthering pancreatic cancer research.
When Christina Sanchez, our new Pack Committee Chair, heard about this event and how the Scouting community is banning together to show support, she felt that we should use this as a learning opportunity for our boys. I completely agree! So we will be coordinating with Cub Scouts and family members of Pack 1800 that would like to attend the event to show community support.
The 1-mile Family/Youth Walk will be on a one mile trail inside Sugar Land Memorial Park, so it is off the road. The 5K Run/Walk will be on University Boulevard. All Scouts that participate are asked to wear their Scout uniforms (not tee-shirts). The cost for the 1-mile Family/Youth Walk is $15.00 per person. Please note that all children under 12 years will need a parent with them at all times.
