Fall Campout 2017

The Pack 1800 Fall Campout will be at Lake Texana on the weekend of October 20-22. Activities will include fishing, hiking, games, campfire program, and s’mores. Lake Texana’s address is 46 Park Rd 1, Edna, TX 77957.

The lake is named after the town of Texana, established in 1832 near the junction of the Navidad and Lavaca rivers. Palmetto Bend Dam backs up water from the Navidad River for a distance of eighteen miles, forming an amazing reservoir with about 11,000 surface acres, 125 miles of shoreline, and a breathtaking storage of 170,000 acre-feet. The land along the banks of Lake Texana supports an incredibly wide variety of plant species, including live oak, post oak, and fewer pecan, water oak, American elm, cedar elm, Texas sugarberry, red mulberry, and hawthorn trees. We will be visiting the nature center and be doing a service project at the campout as well.
